Yellowknife – Old and New(ish)

IMG_20140218_0001

There’s two parts to the City of Yellowknife; the ‘Old Town’ and ‘New Town’. Old Town is on an island in the bay while New Town is built on the mainland and both are connected by a bridge. This photo shows a couple of buildings in Old Town which, ironically, show a new building beside an old log cabin. The photo was taken back in the early 70’s.

  1. I can see the air monument and the traders store if I am correct! Great photograph!

Glad you liked it. I’ve a few pics from inside the old Hudson’s Bay building as well, but they’re slides and I don’t have the ability to scan those just yet. In fact, I’ve a lot of slides from Yellowknife.
