Old School Kitchen – Matabanick Inn

In the late 1960’s, I took a photo of this kitchen stove at the Matabanick Inn (north of Minden, Ontario) with my dad’s old Voightlander camera. So many good memories remain.

It was the summer of 1968 when I visited every weekend and fell in love with a young woman who worked there and would eventually become my wife. It was the best of times and I’ll never forget those crazy weekends. Now, only sweet memories remain.

Here’s to the Matabanick…

I’ve always liked the look of an “old” kitchen…”old” to me has far more character 🙂

I’m on the hunt for more photos I took of the Matabanick Inn. I took quite a few back in 1968, but most are slides, which my scanner isn’t capable of taking. Too bad.

It was a bit of a shocker to see it gone like that, but time marches on, doesn’t it?

I remember helping out on that old wood burning stove. LOL

I don’t know how I screwed this post up, what with making all the text a live link, but I’ll figure it out yet. LOL

  3. Shows just how much things have changed in the last fifty or so years.
